Looking for some new pipes for my C109RT. I had the nice 5 inch ones from GMan before, but I went down two weeks ago on my right side and need to look for new ones now. So any ideas for something that will look nice and sound good but not blow out my my ear drums would be appreciated. Thank you.
Sorry 2 hear u went down. Hope you're healing quickly. What pipes did you have before? The "5 inch" part sounds like they were 2 into 1s...in my opinion those offer the best sound on the 9. I spent a year deciding what pipes I wanted, then I put the Roadburners on and was extremely pleased. They can be loud when I get on the stick, but they are fairly sedate at light throttle.
Ya know......I feel the same way. There aren't that many pipes out there for the C9's. I really love the looks of the factory exhaust, but don't like the looks of the 2 into 1's. I had DG Hardkromes 3 1/2" Slash Cuts on my last 1500LC and loved them, but I don't think they make anything like that for the C9. When I called some of the mfgs. I was told that there weren't enough sold yet and with the economy that they weren't doing alot of new product development.

Yes, I bought the 2 to 1 pipes from G-Man. Love the sound of them for the reasons you stated. What I found last week finally was a place that can do chrome work and they are going to fill in the dents with some, I think they said, bronzing material before re-chroming them. Hard to find a place here that does that type of work and I didn't think I'd be able to save the pipes.
As for the healing, the road rash is gone, the gashes on my head have healed, and the broken rib is doing better even if sore still. However, the doctor tells me that the headaches and dizzy spells from the concussion may be with me for another month at least. Yes, I don't wear a helmet. I'm just glad it was a dirt road that got me and I was only doing about 20-25 MPH. I hit some washboarding and don't even remember going down. From what the witness tells me the bars turned hard and fast and hit me in the ribs before I went down so we're guessing that the rib broke before I even went down and the pain cause a second or two of blackout. I know, overall a minor accident, but I think it could have easily been a lot worse. All in all, 7k damage to the bike, and 7k medical expenses that thankfully I'm insured for with only $512 coming out of my pocket ($500 bike insurance and $12 health insurance deductibles).
