I use only 20/50 Valvoline blends in both car and motorcycles here in the Arizona desert. Change at approx 3000 miles. Get about 4-5 mpg better on the bike than regular Suzuki 10-40 and bike shifts smoother. Now ride '07 S83.

I used to swear by Fram oil filters, until a mechanic buddy of mine showed me a better filter. He cut a Fram in half and then a Wix filter in half, Wow what a difference! So you can buy a Suzuki filter (made in China BTW) for $14.00 A Fram for about $7.00 Or get a Wix for $8.00 Remember "you get what you pay for"

I've always used Valvoline oils in all my rides and never had any problem. I now use the synthetic blends in my truck and full synthetic in all my smaller engines including my 2005 C50. Also I use a Purolator filter from Pepboys that cost about $6.

I put Mobile 1 Red Cap 10W40 in my 2005 C50 with a HiFlo oil filter. I noticed a big differance in how it shifted. Engine seems to sound a little better also but that may just be me.

I ride a 2005 suz boulevard c90...run mobile 1 red cap 15w-50w..Bike runs awesome and transmission shifts are smooth.I swear by mobil 1.The new vettes come with mobil 1 oil straight from the factory.23 bucks for 5 gallons at walmart..best oil out there. make sure to get either the red cap or the gold cap..no friction modifiers in it to cause a wet clutch to slip.

I have found that the "OFF" brands, Fram,NAPA etc..are under sized. My chrome oil cover does not stay on when I use those filters. My ride is a lc1500

I found a Fram filter for my 2007 M50 at the local Wal-Mart. Part number is PH6018 and costs $8.

VS800 I checked at Auto Zone last week for the STP SMO-18 oil filter and they no longer sell it. The computer said it was discontinued!

The Clymer manual says SAE 10W-40 API grade SE or SF. If you are doing deserts or mountains or something different ask on WWW. horizonsunlimited.com and one of the guys will tell you because they are those type of conditions all the time.

I tried to get the STP the other day and was told Auto Zone just stopped carrying motorcycle filters. I went to Car Quest and got one. They're made by Wix. Cost me about $8.
